I have to blog here! I solved the problem of charcoal vs. gas - I recently bought the Char Griller duo. As the name implies, it has two grills in one and they are very reasonable priced. http://www.chargriller.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=29 Having experimented on both sides, it really is the best of both worlds. I've only used natural charcoal in it with some smoking chips so I do not "ruin" it with that charcoal lighter fluid taste/scent. Some items I've "pre-cooked" on the gas side, then on to the charcoal side. I will update on it's durabilty as I own it longer. But, so far, so good.
