If you’re like me, now’s the time you really get going on your grilling and experimenting.

Warm weather always makes me want to try new things with meats – especially steaks.

One of the ways to mix it up is a good sauce. Sauce can change everything.

So here’s a great recipe for a delicious homemade steak sauce. Try it on your next creation and let me know what you think!

The summer’s heating up and the food is getting G-O-O-D!!!

Summer Steak Salad and Shrimp Flatbread

By

Now that’s a gorgeous flatbread full of shrimp and other delights.

Pair that with a summer steak salad and you’ve got a winning combination!

Angie McGowan over at Eclectic Recipes created these beautiful dishes – so why not try them at your home?

They’re light and perfect for those warm days outside. Plus, they’re really flavorful!

Visit Eclectic Recipes for the full lowdown on how to make these fab meals. For me, I’d serve the shrimp flatbread as an appetizer, then dig into the summer steak salad as my main dish.

BUT, you just might do the opposite! Have fun!

It’s that time of year when we celebrate all things BARBECUE!

Why, you ask? Because it’s National Barbecue Month!

What a great excuse to worship all that is grilling, meat, sauces and did I mention meat?

May really kicks off that time of year when you can start to venture outside and spend lots of time tending to your grill.

Naturally, it’s my fave time of year.

A History of Burgers

By

Burger, hamburger, steakburger. Call it what you will – there are many variances.

But one thing remains constant – we love ‘em!

I’ve always heard that the term “hamburger” came from those brilliant folks in Hamburg who first came up with the idea.

But that was in the 1800s when German immigrants brought it to the U.S. What about before then? Surely there was a version before that.

Since we Americans eat an average of three (THREE!) burgers a week, it’s fun to know just how this meal came to be.

So if you’re fascinated, like me, you can check out “The History of Hamburgers” and see for yourself. It’s full of interesting little tidbits about the meal we know and love. So read on!

Then, go make yourself a big, juicy one. You deserve it!

Well, That’s ONE Way to Get Your Steak Fix

By

See this guy? That’s Trevor Runyon.

And this weekend, he really, really, really wanted a steak.

So much so, that he snuck into a grocery store just before closing and prepared himself a feast after everyone left.

Runyon devoured SIX steaks (cooked right in the store), some beer, shrimp and birthday cake.

Our hungry friend was not so smart, though, as he fell asleep and was discovered the next morning.

Now, I get a hankering for a steak myself quite often, but I have never considered this method for obtaining one — or six.

I like to eat mine at home (after I have purchased them, mind you) and then I can fall asleep wherever I want without fear of being discovered.

That’s just how I roll.

Trevor, here’s a link to order your steaks online.  That way, you can eat them on your couch and take a little nap right there. The legal way.

You’re welcome.

Mother’s Day Steak and Lobster

By

Your mom deserves the best, right?

Well, does it get any swankier than steak and lobster?

I didn’t think so.

Choose Mom’s favorite cut and pair it with yummy lobster tails this Sunday (you know, Mother’s Day) to show her she’s something special.

Moms like that.

The gorgeous cold water lobster tails above were prepared for me by my honeys.  Awesome, no?

Here’s a fantastic resource for cooking tips for your steak AND lobster. Follow these instructions and you can’t go wrong.

Happy Mother’s Day this weekend!

Best Steak Cuts for Grilling

By

The Huffington Post has a great slideshow with the “Best Steak Cuts for Grilling.”

I always like to see what other people choose for this category. Porterhouse (see scrumptious photo above) was one of their choices.

What are yours?

My all-time favorite is the ribeye. So, so flavorful!

Check out the best steak cuts slideshow here and you can OOOHH and AAAHHH over the photos like I did. Then grill your favorite!

Enjoy!

Funny. This is how I buy my steaks, too!

Sometimes dogs are just as smart as humans! :)

Just go online, and in just a few clicks STEAKS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO YOUR HOUSE.

The world we live in is a magical place. Just ask Doggie here.

Tell me, have you ordered steaks online?

You’ll never go back. Trust me.

Heavenly Steak

By

Mike over at “Cook. Drink. Repeat.” says, “Every time a steak is ruined, a cherub dies.”

I couldn’t agree more. So . . . he gives us his fool-proof technique on his blog for cooking a rare filet which starts, interestingly enough, with drying your meat.

I had not heard that one before.

Check out his entire post at Cook. Drink. Repeat. and follow his advice to save the life of a sweet, sweet cherub.  Then, let me know how your beautiful filet turns out!

Bacon Love

By

I’m SURE this is true for me.

Luckily, my hubby loves bacon as much as I do.

Or is that lucky? Who gets the last piece?

Something to ponder over the weekend – over a plate of bacon!
