And if it’s good enough for them, we’re in pretty good company, right?

Eye Candy – Steak Style

Gorgeous, right?

I like pretty, shiny, colorful things.

Mix them with a good steak and I’m in my happy place.

Aren’t these acrylic steak knives beautiful? They’re from France. Somehow, that makes them even more beautiful. I don’t know why.

They’re Claude Dozorme steak knives from the Laguiole region of France.

Fancy schmancy.

Click here if you must have these for yourself. And bon appetit!

Steak Sentry

“Who goes there?”

The Emperor Palpatine and Commander Thire Guarding Two Kansas City Strip Steaks

If you have boys under the age of 10, this might be a familiar sight in your home.

In my house, everything revolves around playtime, imaginations and some sort of pretend shooting of weapons. So this photo just about sums it all up.

Nothing is sacred.

I’m trying to decide if these guys (that’s Emperor Palpatine and Commander Thire) are just decoration or are protecting these Kansas City strips from intruders.

We wouldn’t want them to get into the wrong hands.

May the force be with you, gentlemen.

Grumpy Bunnies Need Food!

If this is the way your Easter is going this weekend, make sure everybody is fed!

Nobody likes a grumpy bunny, so for goodness sake, lay out some appetizers and bring on the Easter ham or prime rib or chicken nuggets!

Holiday meals are a tricky thing to pull off successfully. The timing is paramount. You don’t want people too hungry, but you don’t want them stuffed on appetizers. You don’t want them lingering too long around the TV when you call them to the table or the food will be cold. It’s quite a feat to get it just right.

So hats off to you if you are the host or hostess this go ’round. I am applauding you right now.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you do – just make sure it involves good food! Or this photo might start to look mighty familiar . . .

Steak Dreams

So, I got to wondering, do people have dreams about steak? I know I have daydreams about steak, but what about REM sleep dreams where you’re eating a steak?

I visited www.DreamMoods.com to see what it all means. And, man, the food puns are aplenty. Here’s what it has to say…

Generally speaking, food in dream usually refers to food for thoughts, ideas, new beliefs, etc. They are ideas you take in and digest mentally.

To dream that you are eating a steak, represents your animal instincts. The dream may be telling you to trust your instincts or that you need to utilize your instincts more.  The dream could also be a pun on “stake,” as in having a claim to something.

What does it all mean? Well, my guess is it means whatever you want it to mean. Isn’t that what all dreams are?

My quest for meaning – and the perfect steak – continues. Glad you’re on this journey with me…

Seems we all have varying ideas on how to grill the perfect steak.

I guess it all comes down to:  What do you like?

Here’s a video with tips we can all appreciate. Maybe you’ll come away with something new to try the next time you’re at the helm of your ship grill.

Life is a continual learning process, right? Enjoy!

Steak For All

Today I give you this because, well, it’s pretty hilarious.

That pup looks downright regal with his sirloin steak. I almost believe he could even cut it with that knife and fork.

But then I remember he has no opposable thumbs. Bummer.

If you’re not a dog lover, this may just gross you out. If so, just look away. Look away, I say! And think happy thoughts of your own sirloin steak.

Happy weekend, everybody!

Steaks on a Plane

You’re a steak lover, right?

So picture this… you’re on a flight – one long enough to require a meal that’s not peanuts or unidentifiable corn chips. You’re feeling sassy so you order a steak.

Because you can.

The savory aroma of the meal begins to fill the airplane cabin. You’re getting hungry. You can’t help it.

Your meal finally arrives and it looks like the photo above. You’re so famished you could eat your hand right now.

It looks delicious.

Are you pleasantly surprised or aghast at the quality of the meal?

This meal above was a United Airlines offering. Have you ever tried it? What did YOU think?

Should you have waited until you got home to cook up your own amazingly perfect beefy delight? Or are you okay with taking whatever you can?

R U Up 4 Steak Tartare?

This French Bistro classic is a polarizing dish.

You either love it or, well, you don’t.

The ingredients must be fresh and your palate must be refined.

With its raw lean steak and raw egg, it’s a relatively easy meal to make. Getting the whole family to enjoy it may be another story.

Kudos if you’re up for anything. This might just be what you’re looking for tonight!

If so, click here for some good advice on making your Steak Tartare the best it can be.

Really? With Bacon?

Okay, expanding on a theme here this week. Most of us steak lovers can probably agree that bacon rocks.

Bacon on a steak? Fugeddaboudit!!!! It only enhances the flavor.

Meatloaf topped off with bacon?

Absolutely incredible.

But this? Well, this might go under the heading, “TRAVESTY.”

It is an affront to bacon.

It’s the Maple Bacon Sundae – NEW from Denny’s!

I don’t know where to go with this. I feel like I need some therapy just thinking about it.

It’s wrong on so many levels. But…is it possible just a small part of me thinks it’s so right?

No. I can’t. It’s against the laws of nature.

You want bacon? Go here and order some. It’s delicious. Just promise me you will use it the way nature intended.

Delicious Bacon

Dab a little of this behind your ears and the spouse will come running.

Or stray dogs. Whichever.

Look, I love bacon as much as the next guy. (Maybe more if you ask my husband.)

But I’m pretty sure I don’t want to smell like it all the time. If I’m going to smell like anything it’s going to be a fresh meadow – not meat.

Check out the full details of this hilarious new product here. And don’t blame me if you have a feral dog problem after you buy it.

I warned you.

Steaks For the Weekend Warrior

…and “Tuesday Night Baseball Games in 30-Degree Weather Warrior” and “Hey Mom I Need a Posterboard You Can Only Get At This One Store That’s 30 Miles Away And By the Way It’s Due Tomorrow Warrior.”

In other words, I deserved a steak this weekend. So we grilled up a whole batch of them.

The kids? They got chicken nuggets.

Where No Steak Has Gone Before…

This, my friends, is steak-flavored beer for dogs.

Yes, you read that right.

Why would someone create such a thing, you ask?

Why does anyone do anything?

In this crazy, mixed-up world we live in, I cannot find an answer.

Coming from a lover of steak in all forms, this is a bit out there for even me.

I think it might be the “beer” part that’s throwing me off.  Dogs like steak, yes. But why does it have to be steak-flavored BEER?

Maybe you have an answer for me from your part of the world? Please???
