Looks good enough to eat, right?

But it’s soap!

It’s amazing the things a creative mind can do.

That bacon looks really crispy and perfectly cooked. I do wish it was real. Just a little.

Now I’m really jonesing for some bacon. Lots of it.

Incredible handiwork!

If so, no thanks! Ha!

Check out the pig and rooster in the background – they think this guy’s crazy!

Football Steak!

Have you seen this genius breakdown from Sports Illustrated? If you love football and you love beef – this will hit your sweet spot!

This is just the cover graphic, but inside the mag is a four-page spread with a thorough description of each of the cuts (conferences) and “Menu Specials” like Florida at Texas A&M in their SEC debuts. Waiter, I’ll take one of those!

This is a clever way to play off the beef-lovin’ fun of college football. It sure caught my eye!

Check it out in this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated. You’ve got to be a subscriber to view it online, so it’s worth picking up at the checkout counter next time you’re at the market.

Eat up, football fans – someone’s about to get grilled!!!!

Steak Table?

Okay, is it just me – or does this table on the “Real Housewives of Orange County Reunion Special” totally look like a steak?

I kept looking at it the whole time (yes, I’m admitting I watched the whole thing) thinking, That table looks mighty tasty!

Did you watch this? Did you think the same thing?

This may be the first time a table has made my mouth water!

Steak Jewelry

Steak cufflinks.

Weird, right?

In what industry is this acceptable attire?

If you’re at a lunch meeting and you see a colleague with these on perhaps you’d say, “Hey, Bob, you’ve got a little steak on your shirt.”

But you’re a steak lover. You’ve got a beefy soft spot in your heart. Are you into these?

New Steak Cut? Vegas Strip Steak

In April, meat specialists unveiled a “new cut of beef steak” at the Protein Innovation Summit in Chicago.

It’s called the Vegas Strip steak.

So was this an overdue April Fool’s joke? Or the real deal?

Apparently it’s real. The new cut is said to be as tender as a New York (or Kansas City) Strip but requires no aging or marinating to achieve that tenderness.

The cut can be anywhere from 4-12 ounces and I, for one, will be testing it out as soon as it’s available to the general public (i.e. me).

Sounds intriguing, no?

Read more about this new development here and here and at its own website here.

Nothing like espousing your views through your baby. That’s what you had him for, right?

Go forth, meat eaters, and prosper!

Steak: The Most Romantic Card Ever

If I received this card from my husband, I would truly know how he felt about me.

Believe me, he loves a good steak. That I know.

Funny how steak seems to play a big part in declarations of love – at least in my life.

We served it at our wedding, we ate it the night we became engaged, we celebrate anniversaries over gorgeous steaks.

You might say steak has been there for me all along.

If you feel the need to send this card to your sweetie you can find it at etsy here.

Just make sure your honey finds it as romantic as you do.

Steak – Food of Olympians

Just think how many steaks you could grill on those fiery Olympic rings!!!!!

Turns out, steak is a go-to food for Olympic athletes who need the protein to fuel their amazing feats.

Here’s what one Olympian had to say after a day of vigorous activity at an elite level:   “I definitely need the rest tomorrow, so, big steak and feet up, and ready for Thursday.”

Sounds like a good plan to me. I will be doing the same thing myself . . . just to get ready for MY Thursday!
