Meatball Sub Recipe

How can you resist that meaty goodness?

Rachael Ray has a great Meatball Sub recipe using ground beef, homemade marinara and topped with provolone. Mwah!

I did mine a little differently (above) using pickles as the topper with the cheese at the bottom. Absolutely scrumptious!

Try her Meatball Sub recipe but don’t forget to personalize it to your taste. After all, you’re eating it, right?

Mangia, and then a big nap. Enjoy!

Inaugural Luncheon Advice

President Obama’s 2013 Inaugural Luncheon is set to include hickory grilled bison and steamed lobster.

Something for everyone, perhaps?

It has been said that Mrs. Obama’s health-conscious mindset was at the forefront in determining this year’s menu so bison (being the leanest red meat) was chosen to be showcased.

I, personally, have feasted on bison and could not get through bite #2. I did not enjoy the taste or the texture.

But maybe I’m just a baby.

To me, it looked like a steak and smelled like a steak. But when I tasted it I wanted to bang my fists on the table and shout, “I thought this was going to be a steak! You tricked me!”

Was it all in my mind? I KNEW I was getting bison so I was ready for it. But maybe I was TOO ready for it, just waiting for it to be different.

And so it was.

So, Inaugural Luncheon attendees, be ye prepared. Bison IS NOT a good ole ribeye. It’s different. Don’t make a scene.

Enjoy your lobster and keep your composure.

You can always throw a ribeye on the grill when you get home.

You’ve been warned.

Nicki Minaj – Bad Steak Taste?

Musical sensation – and new “American Idol” judge Nicki Minaj visited a steakhouse in Hollywood last night and faux pasd all over the place.

Or did she? You tell me.

The Nickster sent someone out to fetch her some A.1. Steaksauce for her tasty steak.

In a nice restaurant. In Hollywood. California.

Is that tacky? Or is it just having her steak the way she wants it?

I, personally, do not care at all how anyone eats their steak. You enjoy that bad boy the way you like, I say.

But, chefs are notoriously offended by the addition of outside steak sauces.

So . . .  did she fall down in the etiquette department or do you subscribe to the “live and let live” notion?

Nicki, just know that if you had enjoyed that steak at home no one would be the wiser.

Just sayin.
