How To Build the Best Burger

How To Build the Best Burger

The best burgers start with one thing: top quality meat.

I prefer burgers made from steaks – steakburgers using ground steak beef. For a real treat, try American Wagyu beef. It’s a delicacy that’s a bit more expensive, but worth the expense. This beef is tender and flavorful and a great starting point for a burger with endless possibilities.

Also known as Kobe beef, THIS is the basis for a steakburger you won’t forget.

From this point on, the rest is up to your own personal preferences: cheese or no cheese? Vidalia onions? Bacon? Blue cheese? Wheat bun?

The ideas just keep coming. But remember, if the beef itself is sub-par, there’s really no hope for greatness after that.

Check out these fantastic burger ideas and build a burger you’ll keep coming back to!

Spring Ingredients

Spring Ingredients Top Sirloin with Bacon

Oh, sweet spring! The seasonal flavors are what I live for!

There’s just something about spring that’s, well, refreshing.

Carrots! Asparagus! Blueberries!

So many fresh spring ingredients to incorporate into, say, a Porterhouse steak to springitize it. (I know it’s not a word, but stay with me.)

Instantly turn steaks into springtime fare with citrus accents. So delicious!

Try this recipe for Lemon Herbed Top Sirloin to really ring in the springtime. It’s filled with fresh herbs and refreshing lemon. Just what spring is all about!

Ingredients:
4 Top Sirloin Steaks
1 tbsp. lemon zest
1 lemon, juiced
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp. dried parsley
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1 tbsp. olive oil

Directions: Combine all of the ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Mix well. Rub Top Sirloin Steaks with mixture. Allow steaks to marinate for 30 minutes to one hour. Place the steaks on a preheated grill. Sear on each side on high heat for 2 -3 minutes. Turn down the heat and cook to your desired doneness.

Servings: 4

Couple Appreciation Month: Dinner for Two?

Couple Appreciation Month

April is Couple Appreciation Month. I take this to mean we should all appreciate couples and if you’re one half of a couple, appreciate your other half.

The way we do that in my house? Food! Good food.

Namely steaks.

Now appreciating your partner might look like filet mignons to you, Porterhouse steaks to your neighbor or ribeyes to your mother-in-law.

However you see it, steaks are the way to go.

Dinner for two with exceptionally grilled steaks and maybe some candles flickering is basically the international language of appreciation and love.

Am I right?

Don’t let this month pass without some couple appreciation in your life. You – and your other half – will be thankful!
