How To Clean a Grill Checklist

How To Clean a Grill

So maybe your awesome Uncle Fred taught you how to grill a steak when you were a youngster. But did anyone ever tell you how to clean a grill?

Truly, the first rule of grilling great steaks is to start with a clean grill.

Here’s a checklist for spring cleaning your grill:

  1. Make sure burners are off.
  2. Use a grate scrape to scrape off last season’s remnants.
  3. If your grates are removable, you can wash them in the dishwasher. Just remember to reseason them once you put them back on the grill.
  4. Check your burners for debris and brush off as necessary.
  5. Check the fuel line for cracks or loose connections.
  6. If propane, check fuel levels.
  7. Clean the exterior of the grill with soap and warm water.

Grilling steaks is an artform, but you’ve got to start with a clean canvas! Happy spring grilling, everybody!

Easter Brunch Ideas

Easter Brunch Ideas

Are you a brunch person? Will you be serving a brunch this Easter?

We all know brunch is a breakfast/lunch hybrid that’s served usually mid-morning to around 2 pm. But what you serve is entirely up to you!

One thing that MUST be on my Easter brunch table is a spiral sliced ham. No question.

Spiral ham is just so agreeable. It fits in nicely as a breakfast option but serves just as well at lunch or dinnertime. Thanks, ham!

If its brunch time I always set out lots of fruit – blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, sliced bananas, apples, melons, you name it!

Not only is fruit light and a wonderful accompaniment, it’s just so colorful and pleasing to the eye!

A quiche is a great option to serve alongside your ham as well. We like egg, cheese and bacon in ours, but have fun experimenting with recipes you like.

If you go the brunch route, what will you be serving at your special Easter brunch?
