Flintstones Steak

Okay, folks. What kind of steak is portrayed here?

I grew up watching “The Flintstones.” I, too, marveled at the size of that monstrous steak Dino was always panting over.

I’ve heard lore that it is indeed a Porterhouse.

But what do you think?

Is that really what it is – or could it be another cut?

You tell me!

Well, Beef.org has made it easy for all of us with this simple chart. Just click on it to enlarge.

Check it out to see what each cut looks like and how you can use it. Keep this on hand when you come across a new recipe and aren’t quite sure what cut is called for.

And the Steak Jumped Over the Moon

A little chart for ya on this educational Friday.

For the older kids, this chart’ll help you learn where each cut of beef comes from on the cow. Take notes, because there WILL be a test later.

And for you younger ones, well, just enjoy an age-old nursery rhyme involving a cow jumping over the moon.

That’s enough learning for today. My head hurts now.

And I’m hungry.

Happy Friday, everyone!
