Food Superstitions

This Friday is a Friday the 13th. So what better time to plan ahead for that superstitious day than now?

Of course I relate everything to food so here’s what comes to mind for me…

The old thought goes that garlic will ward off bad spirits and prevent someone from giving you the “Evil Eye.”

Want to keep away demons, werewolves and vampires? Get a little garlic.

So for me, I’ll make it easy on myself and just cook with the stuff. How about Garlic Steaks? Yes, please!

This steak recipe makes the most sense on a day filled with superstition. And, hey, it couldn’t hurt, right?

Try it – just to be sure you won’t be visited by any vampires this Friday. 🙂

Halloween: Grilled Anti-Vampire Steaks

Today is one of those days where you don’t want to get tangled up with a vampire.

It’s Halloween, man!

So to protect us against those nasty neck-biters, here’s a recipe with lots of garlic – you know, ’cause they hate garlic.

Grilled Anti-Vampire Steak – Halloween Recipe

Prep Time: 8 hours, 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 8 hours, 35 minutes
  • 1 Bottle of Zesty Italian Dressing
  • 4 Cloves of fresh garlic; crushed
  • 1 or 2 Grilling steaks
To make the marinade mix together the dressing and garlic. Marinade the steaks in the refrigerator for 8 hours. Remove the steaks from the marinade and grill to your liking, for me it’s medium-well.

Click here to see the entire recipe in all its glory. And have a safe and vampire-free Halloween. . . muahahahahahhhahahahhhhaaaaa!!!!
