Inaugural Luncheon Advice

President Obama’s 2013 Inaugural Luncheon is set to include hickory grilled bison and steamed lobster.

Something for everyone, perhaps?

It has been said that Mrs. Obama’s health-conscious mindset was at the forefront in determining this year’s menu so bison (being the leanest red meat) was chosen to be showcased.

I, personally, have feasted on bison and could not get through bite #2. I did not enjoy the taste or the texture.

But maybe I’m just a baby.

To me, it looked like a steak and smelled like a steak. But when I tasted it I wanted to bang my fists on the table and shout, “I thought this was going to be a steak! You tricked me!”

Was it all in my mind? I KNEW I was getting bison so I was ready for it. But maybe I was TOO ready for it, just waiting for it to be different.

And so it was.

So, Inaugural Luncheon attendees, be ye prepared. Bison IS NOT a good ole ribeye. It’s different. Don’t make a scene.

Enjoy your lobster and keep your composure.

You can always throw a ribeye on the grill when you get home.

You’ve been warned.

Steaky Birthday, Mrs. Obama!

So it seems my theory that it is universal to celebrate all of life’s milestones with steak is once again proven.

This time, by none other than the First Lady herself.

She chose to dine on American Wagyu steak to mark the occasion of her birth. AND, at a place that serves an Obama Burger – an American Kobe burger with bacon, cheese, ketchup and mustard. Yet again, exquisite taste.

Yum, Mrs. Obama. Yum.

See? I’m not the only one who likes to dine on a perfectly grilled steak when there is something to celebrate.

Next time you have something in your life to shout about, you can revel in it over your own American Wagyu steaks or Kobe burgers at home. Just click here and they can be on their way to your door in no time.

Happy birthday, Mrs. Obama. Hope that steak – and your day – was divine!

Steak for Christmas? You’re in Good Company

If you had a nice steak dinner on Christmas night, congratulations. You dined like a president!

The Obamas enjoyed a beautiful, juicy steak on Dec. 25th in Hawaii. I can’t think of a more amazing way to spend Christmas.

Read on…

HE may be in exotic Hawaii, but President Barack Obama’s culinary Christmas is decidedly mainstream.

The president will dine on steak, roasted potatoes and green beans, with pie for dessert, according to White House spokesman Bill Burton, who is traveling with the president on his holiday vacation.

Mr Obama arrived on Wednesday for his annual trip to the Aloha State, his birthplace. He is set to stay past New Year’s reading novels, writing his State of the Union speech, and working in some golf with family and friends.

Mr Burton was mum on the president’s Christmas Eve plans.

Now that’s my kind of holiday! I love your taste, Mr. President!

This bodes well for 2011!

Read the story here. And happy new year!
