Food Trends for 2014

No one can predict the future . . . or can they?

The editors of Eatocracy are making some food predictions for 2014 that are raising some eyebrows.

Okay, maybe just one brow – my left one.

Things like breakfast for dinner? Cool.

Rice making a comeback? Yes, sir.

But beef in the raw? Well, I’ve never really been a tartare kinda gal.

The beef part I’m onboard with.

Read on to see all of their predictions for a tasty new year.

I’m looking forward to MOST of it!

Raw Meat From a Vending Machine?

Wow. Our buddy Perez Hilton has opened my eyes to a new phenomenon that leaves me asking, What is this world coming to?

Apparently, you can now purchase raw steaks and beef from your local Minimart in Birmingham, Alabama.

Right next to the cigarettes, Funyuns and toilet paper.

There is something strange about this to me. I don’t know why it’s such a shock, but I just can’t imagine my hubby saying, “Hey honey, I stopped for gas and got us some ribeyes for dinner!”

What do you think about this concept? Will it grow on us just like everything else we’ve become accustomed to? Or is this doomed to failure?

Mr. Bean’s Steak Tartare

If you’ve never had the pleasure of watching Mr. Bean in action, you’re in for a treat.

Played by British comedian Rowan Atkinson, Mr. Bean is always finding himself in ridiculous situations — and then making them even more ridiculous with his crazy antics. That’s just his way. And that’s why we love him.

There were only 14 episodes ever made featuring the lovable doof and this one is a doozy. Mr. Bean attempts to dine at a fine restaurant and orders a steak.

Now, I prefer my steak cooked — as apparently Mr. Bean does — and, well, hilarity ensues.

If you have a “taste” for British comedy, you’ll like this one. Enjoy this steak tartare with Mr. Bean!
