World’s First Steak Knife?

Now, I don’t know about you, but I can’t see cutting my ribeye with that. But maybe I’m a little more evolved than our ancestors who used this.

But just a little.

This tiny piece of flint is thought to have been among the first steak knives used around 200,000 years ago in Israel. They found it surrounding a fire containing animal bones.

It’s amazing to think we’ve gone from that teensy bit of rock to this . . .

And I am so thankful, too, because I’m impatient as it is when I’m eating my steak. The thought of spending hours just cutting it up makes me, well, hungry.

Read the entire interesting article about this historical find here. But don’t throw away your steak knives. You’ll wanna keep those.

Ready for Steak This Weekend?

If you’re looking to cook something a little different this weekend, try this flavorful boneless ribeye steak recipe from Chef Marcus Samuelsson of Good Morning America.

It would seriously be a good morning if you served this up with some eggs and fixins the next day.  Just sayin’.

Try this paprika-y, garlicky seasoning and tell me what you think. This just might become your favorite new way to cook a steak!

Steak Teaser

This poor guy is getting teased by a steak on a string. Sad. Just sad.

This may qualify as “cruel and unusual punishment.” LOL.

But, judging from how well-done that steak was, they may have done him a favor by just teasing him with it.

You know what I mean? Give it a little juice, guys – it enhances the flavor!

And, really, let him eat it please . . . he works hard for our country!
