Date With a Steak

You know you love it.

Okay, so this photo won’t be on any magazine covers anytime soon. I took it with my cell phone on a date with my husband.

But it documents a wonderful evening where steak was on the menu and actual conversation was had. Best. Date. Ever.

Where is the green on my plate, you ask? Well, there WAS a huge orange carrot at one time (which I moved), does that count?

Listen, we had no kids with us and I did not want to eat my veggies that night. So there.

What about you? Is steak on your date night menu? Valentine’s Day is coming up . . . do you have a steak meal in mind for your sweetie?

Heed the Taco Bell “Beef” Warning

So. . . a lawsuit has been filed against Taco Bell claiming they don’t use “real beef.”

OMG.

An AP story has this to say about it:

The meat mixture sold by Taco Bell restaurants contains binders and extenders and does not meet the minimum requirements set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to be labeled as “beef,” according to the legal complaint.

I’m sorry. Gross.

If ever there was a fantastic reason to cook your own beef tacos, beef burritos, beef anything at home — THIS. IS. IT.

Read all about it here. And THEN, get your meat here and cook your own amazing beef at home!

Are You a Cold Steak Fan?

There is a debate raging out there over whether steak is just as good (or better) straight out of the fridge.

Which side do you fall on?

Now, usually these are leftovers we’re talking about — last night’s grilled filet mignon, strip steak cut up and served as a steak salad, London Broil no longer hot out of the oven.

Are you the “get it while it’s hot” kind or do you prefer the sealed in taste of a refrigerated masterpiece?

Read the debate here and let me know where you stand. Do you LOVE cold steak or is it best hot off the grill (after at least 5 minutes resting, of course)?

Tell me your thoughts!
