Steakburgers Make Me Happy

This was the scene on Labor Day. Grilling. Chilling. Peacefulness.

Except for the minor mishap with that burger in front. Not sure what happened there. It somehow got split in two.

I got to eat that one. That’s what moms do.

But it tasted fantastic all the same.

Those other delights on the grill are bratwurst. We had ourselves a little combo going and our friends who came over thought they had died and gone to heaven.

We had a little football on TV, some meat on the grill and all was well.

THAT’S something to be thankful for. And that’s what we’ll be thinking on Sunday as we remember what happened in our country 10 YEARS AGO.

I can’t believe 9/11/01 was 10 years ago. It feels like yesterday in my mind. My kids weren’t even born then. But they know about 9/11 and we’ll discuss it again.

Just being here is something to be thankful for. And we’ll remember those who aren’t. I hope you will too.

Beef Flavored Water?

Say it ain’t so.

Oh, it’s so.

And it’s called MeatWater.

Mmmm.

Really?

There are tasty flavors like Beef Salad, Beef Stroganoff and even Cheese Burger. You know, for when you want that meaty taste – in a liquid form.

I’ve read the product information and yet, I’m still confused. What is the point of this again?

Here’s what the Web site says about this pure yumminess:

It is a realm of complete and profound darkness consisting (of) absolutely no meat but the thought patterns of those in it. It  is a beautiful and heavenly experience because, in the absence of all else, the privileged consumers will be able to perfectly see the love and light they have cultivated within themselves.

Come again?

It consists of “absolutely no meat but the thought patterns of those in it.” I don’t know how to begin to comprehend that.

So I won’t.

If you have tasted this or are willing to go out and taste this will you please, please report back to me your “thought patterns” after doing so? I’m curious – but not enough to taste it myself.

I have a low pain threshold.

What I Did Over Summer Break: Beef Kabob Edition

We couldn’t help but bask in the gorgeous weather this weekend.

And here’s what goes along with that . . .

Kabobs, kabobs and more kabobs.

We grilled up seasoned beef kabobs and sprinkled in a few chicken and even salmon kabobs for good measure.

The backyard was filled with the enchanting aroma of sizzling meat and vegetables while the kids swam and goofed off.

An absolutely perfect summer day.

It’s times like this when you wonder if life can get any better. The trick is to not think too much further beyond the moment. It was exquisite.

I hope you are having as much fun with summer as we are!
