How To Build the Best Burger

How To Build the Best Burger

The best burgers start with one thing: top quality meat.

I prefer burgers made from steaks – steakburgers using ground steak beef. For a real treat, try American Wagyu beef. It’s a delicacy that’s a bit more expensive, but worth the expense. This beef is tender and flavorful and a great starting point for a burger with endless possibilities.

Also known as Kobe beef, THIS is the basis for a steakburger you won’t forget.

From this point on, the rest is up to your own personal preferences: cheese or no cheese? Vidalia onions? Bacon? Blue cheese? Wheat bun?

The ideas just keep coming. But remember, if the beef itself is sub-par, there’s really no hope for greatness after that.

Check out these fantastic burger ideas and build a burger you’ll keep coming back to!

Celebrate the Big Game Arizona Style – Chimichangas!

Chimichanga

The folklore goes that in 1922, a restaurateur in Arizona accidentally dropped a pastry into the deep fryer and exclaimed, “Chimichanga!”

That’s Spanish for thingamajig.

Fill it with some sour cream, cheese and beef and you’ve got yourself today’s version of the chimichanga.

Now, since Sunday’s big game is being played in Arizona, it only feels right to honor that venue by serving up some beef chimichangas while you watch!

Check out this incredible beef chimichanga recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/beef-chimichangas/

Many versions of this recipe call for ground beef like you’d find in steakburgers, but you can experiment and use shredded Wagyu beef or any cut of shredded steak you love.

Have fun with your chimichangas and the big game this weekend! I know I will!

Gift Ideas for Hard-to-Buy-For Folks

Boxedgiftset_3Fall2014_LRG

We’ve all got ‘em.

Those people on your gift list who either have everything or don’t like anything.

What do you get them at holiday time?

I always go with my gut. Literally. Food is something we ALL enjoy.

Give steaks!

Steak gifts always make a huge impression. And with all the variety of steaks out there – from ribeyes and T-bones, to filet mignon and Kobe beef – you can customize it so that it’s just right.

And if steak gift packages are too tall an order, just give ‘em a gift card and let THEM choose which steaks they like best.

Problem solved. It’ll be a happy holiday for all!
