Mom’s Favorite Steak Is…

Mom's Favorite Steak

Mother’s Day is over. Did you treat her right?

If there was a steak involved, I say a resounding YES!

Now, we traditionally think of steak as being Dad’s favorite, but if your mom is anything like me – Mom gives Pops a run for his money on this one.

So, tell me, what is your mother’s favorite cut?

I’m a mom and my kids know my favorite is a ribeye. Yummy, yummy ribeye.

But I’ll tell you MY mom’s favorite. Filet mignon. She likes hers butterfly cut.

But everyone’s different. So what’s YOUR mother’s ultimate cut of beef? I’d like to know. Tell me in the comment section!

Steak Break

Apparently I was not the only one who had the bright idea to treat myself to steaks this past weekend.

I received a text from my mother with this photo attached and the word “Yum!” —

Great minds think alike. Especially if they have the same DNA.

So now we’re on to the great preparation for Turkey Day. It’s so close I can smell the prime rib and turkey now.

Do you have this whole week off or just Thursday? Or do you even have Thursday off?

My kids have this whole week off of school and that makes for an interesting dynamic. We will alternate between the extreme highs of laughter and togetherness and, well, some trying moments. They’re boys, they’re younger than 10 and that’s often a recipe for disaster.

Whatever YOUR plans for Thanksgiving are, I know we’ll all remember the things – and people – to be thankful for. That’s what it’s all about!

Steaky Mother’s Day

I love my mom.

She’s what a mom was meant to be. She’s always been there for me . . . and she’s still there for me now.

I’m something-seven years old and I still call my mom when I need help. I’m not ashamed to admit that.

I hope my boys are still calling me for help when they have families of their own.

So, Mother’s Day is coming up. And what better way is there to show my mom I love and appreciate her than to cook her a meal and let HER sit down and just be a guest?

How many times is Mom the one doing all the work?

So I’m going to invite her over on Mother’s Day, cook her a delicious filet mignon and raise a glass to her. She deserves it.

I might even send her home with some extra steaks.

She’s THAT great. 🙂
