Steak Gadget

Now, this one I’ve never seen before.

If you have trouble cutting your steak, this handy little tool is here to save the day.

As we age, our coordination is not what it used to be. This one-handed steak knife lets you cut with, well, one hand. Now isn’t that cool?

I’m ALL FOR any device that allows steak-eating into our golden years! Hooray!!!

I found this at a place called GoldViolin.com. I’m bookmarking it for the next 60 years. Awesome.

Steak Gift: For the Man in Your Life

Can’t think of anything to get for that hard-to-buy-for husband, brother, uncle, father or mailman?

If he loves steak (and I know he does) why not present him with a pair of boxers emblazoned with his favorite cut of meat?

If this doesn’t say “love” and “I know you so well” — I don’t know what does.

Buy it today . . . for smiles that will last a lifetime.

*Note sarcasm*

Have a great weekend, everybody! May it be filled with steak on your pants! (You know, the boxers.)

Now That’s a Lot of Meat!

This is incredible — and insane.

And weird.

But in a good way.

Weighing in at a whopping 78.5 lbs. is the “World’s Biggest Hamburger” shown here.

Amazing. Delicious. Creepy.

Take a bite!

Steak: For Your Viewing Pleasure

This is definitely almost too good to eat.

Those colors! The obvious mix of flavors! And textures!

And it’s not even cooked yet!

Can you just imagine the smells that will drift into the air when these guys start to sizzle?

Holy cow, I’m having a moment just thinking about it. These babies are stuffed flank steak spirals. And they’re just as delicious as they are gorgeous.

What more can you ask for in a meal?

Check this out for more info and tantalizing photos of this amazing meal. You won’t be sorry . . . unless you haven’t eaten all day. Then you might be sorry. And hungry.

Doggies Love Steak, Too!

While shopping for other things, I came across these tasty treats for our canine friends. And I realized — dogs love steak.

But do they know it’s supposed to be “steak” when it’s in little bite-sized pieces?

This particular product advertises “choice cuts.” Really?? It looks like cookie-type wafer thingies to me.

Then there’s this . . .

Notice the “clearance” sticker on this one. Perhaps the enticing “T-bone shapes” description wasn’t enough to get a pup’s blood pumping.

Overall, nice attempt at satisfying a dog’s penchant for tasty steak. But my final evaluation on these products is:  FAIL.

Steak Bar?

Now, if you’re a TRUE steak lover, this is NOT the way to go!

I can’t even imagine what went through someone’s head when they came up with this idea.

Something like this, “Hey!  Let’s compress a tender, juicy steak into a compact bar.  Then, we’ll package it and sell it!”

This is a travesty. Write your congressmen and women. Demand that this kind of abuse be stopped.

Then, this weekend, go out and cook yourself a REAL steak like this and this and this.

No wrapper needed.

15-Minute Steaks

[donotprint]Oh, to have a luscious, tasty, flavorful steak in just 15 minutes!

But wait! It CAN happen! Check it out! [/donotprint]

Recipe: 15-Minute Steak

Summary: Quick and tasty steaks pan fried

  • – 1 serving of steak (I’m using the ribeye cut here) – olive oil – sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper – herbs of your choice (optional)

  1. 1. Brush the steak with some oil and season with salt, pepper and herbs (optional) to taste just before cooking. 2. Heat the griddle pan on high heat till very hot. Place the steak onto the hot pan (you should hear a sizzling sound if the pan is hot enough) and reduce the heat to medium high. 3. Cook the meat based on the cooking times reference above. For example, for my steak which is 3/4 inch thick, I cook the meat on one side first for 4 minutes, then I flip over to the other side to cook for another 5 minutes. This is for medium. 4. Place the steak on a plate and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Change it up the way YOU like it with your favorite herbs and spices.

Cooking time (duration): 15

Number of servings (yield): 1

Meal type: dinner

Culinary tradition: USA (General)

Visit here to see this recipe in greater detail, plus lots of other photos and ideas for flavors.

Quick AND yummy? It doesn’t get any better than that!
