Game Day Food Battle

Game Day Food

This weekend is the biggest football game of the year! But what’s the most important part of the game? The food!

I like to think of the game in terms of AFC food vs. NFC food.

In this case, it’s the delicious lobster of the AFC New England Patriots vs. the scrumptious salmon of the NFC Seattle Seahawks.

We’ve got two teams from either end of the country – how cool is that? But both areas are known for their seafood…albeit different dishes.

So we’ve got lobster on one end of the field and salmon on the other. Who will win?

We’ll just have to serve them both during the game and see! Let your guests do the officiating.

May the best dish win!

Filet and Lobster – Dynamic Duo!

Filet Mignon and Lobster Tails

Is one of your resolutions to eat healthier?

I’ll admit, it’s mine pretty much every year. I seem to slip wildly near the end of the year with all the cookies, gravies, etc. that the holidays bring. So come January, it’s time to get back on track.

Luckily for us steak lovers, there are some great healthy options that include beef. One of my favorites is a tender, juicy filet mignon. It’s lean and it’s just the right size.

And if I want to add a bit more to it, a nice lobster tail is a healthy complement that’s absolutely delicious, too!

So, I’ll be surfing and turfing my way through 2015 and loving every minute of it! My waistline will, too. What about you?

Time To Try a Seafood Bake

Seafood Bake

I simply adore a full meal cooked all at once!

The many flavors blend together for such a delicious final product.

A Seafood Bake mixes Maine lobster tails, shrimp, mussels, scallops, corn on the cob and baby potatoes with a rich, herbed lemon butter sauce.

Sound delicious? It is!

At my house, we add steak on the barbie for the ultimate surf and turf.

Sheer heaven.

I prefer ribeye steaks but my husband is partial to Kansas City strip steaks. But any steak cut makes sense with a Seafood Bake. It all works!

Itching to try it? All you need to do is bake for just under an hour. That’s it! Add a little Chardonnay and you’re all set.

It doesn’t get any simpler than that. Less time working and more time enjoying!
